Aurah

السلام عليكم

I hope you are reading this in good health. Here in Malaysia, it is blazing hot, which is typical Malaysian weather. Today, I decided to share something about the women's aurah. Aurah means parts of the body that a woman need to keep hidden from people who aren't her mahram.

I myself am still learning about aurah and how to cover my aurah and I hope what I share today will benefit you and me.

So, I did some research about where in the Qur'an does it state to cover our aurah and there was this paticular verse in surah An-Nur that talks about aurah, It goes like this:

24:31

And Say to the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bossoms) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband's fathers, or their sons, or their husband's sons, or their brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons, or their (Muslim women) (i.e. sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of feminine sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful. [Surah An-Nur 24:31]

From what I have learnt, the only parts you don't have to cover are your palms and face, but you do have to cover your feet. Sisters, trust me, you will look better when you wear socks =)

Case in point, me and my snazzy leopard print shoes, with socks on, of course =)

So, moral of the story, cover your feet, it will be stylish and according to Islam =)

Writing on an iPad! / Blue & Studs

How cool is this? I downloaded the blogger app & now I'm posting using my iPad. Not cool? Must be the nerd in me then.

So, this is my 3rd post, and so far I have been rambling, so I'd thought I'd share something with you all today which is my personal style. I decided to go for a studded, rock chic look today.

Studs on my denim jacket and studs on my wrist. I got the jacket at Padini for rm89, and I love it! So far, it's the cheapest jacket I can find in shops, and it's of good quality, alhamdulillah. The ring was from Diva London I think, got it quite a long time ago. I can't remember where I got the bracelet though.

What do you think? 😁

I'm new at blogging

As the title reads, I am indeed new at blogging. My blog, as for now, will have a minimalist look. The reason simply being because... I have absolutely no idea how to decorate my blog fancily. I humbly admit I am not equipped with such knowledge to make my blog prettier. But minimalist is good, simplicity is good. Hehe.

Anyways, I'm not the most hardworking person, I often forget I even have a blog. I have a diary, and I do write there, and hence, you can deduce from that fact is that, yes, I am quite technologically-behind. But I have created this blog for a purpose which is to voice out, express, vent, muse, babble, and ramble about everything and anything, but mostly about Islam and myself as a Muslim. (Hence, the title.)

It's weird blogging. It's like talking to air. Virtual air.
